In 4 hours we had time to visit downtown Corfu

At each stopover of the cruise, COSTA proposes excursions to visit the city or to do an activity. Prices vary from 50€ to 120€ per person. You can always do the tours yourself(sometimes the same tour offered by the company) much cheaper. But, it is necessary to prepare the necessary information before. The internet connection is very expensive on the boat and you will never find information about public transport because the cruise company “pushes” you to pay for its excursions. We did not take any Costa excursion and That is with no regrets.
In Corfu, the Costa shuttle which goes from the port to the entrance of the city, costs 6 € round trip.
If you cannot or do not want to take the shuttle of your cruise, there is a bus outside the cruise terminal that takes you to the old town for 1.6 € / person.

You will find all kinds of shops here. In 2015, Greece was in the middle of an economic crisis and it seen in the shops:

It is one of the largest squares in Greece.


On the day of our visit to Corfu, There was a celebration in the Spienada. There was a crazy crowd and all the cafes in the square were full.


04 – San Rocco Square

This is the main bus station if you decide to go away from the center of Corfu.

It is the most famous monument of Corfu
07 – Antivouniotissa Church

This is a church/museum dedicated to the Holy Mother of God. It is one of the oldest and richest buildings in Corfu

This palace served as the seat of the Ionian Senate
