After breakfast in the neighborhood cafe, we head north towards the port of « Palau »
The port of « Palau » is the departure point of ferries to the small island of « La Maddalena »
There are 2 companies that offer ferry journeys to « La Maddalena ». « Delcomar » and « Maddalena Lines ». The 2 companies have counters in the port and offer the same services. The crossings last 20 minutes and are carried out every hour or half hour depending on the season. It is always cheaper to buy return tickets . The return date is flexible. We choose the company « Maddalena Lines »

Let’s go for « La Maddalena »
We arrive at the port of « La Maddalena » a little after 11:00 am. our hotel room will not be ready before 2:00 p.m. Direction the beach « Spiaggia di Punta Tegge » for a short swim.
It is a beautiful little rocky beach. Today’s weather is not sunny, it is not easy to judge the color of the water, but we like it.
It is a good snorkeling spot to admire the marine fauna
Around 2:00 p.m., we finish swimming and head to our hotel

It is a regular hotel with a reception and a parking… but it needs renovation. To spend a night on the small island, it’s okay.
After a short rest, we go to discover the little island next to la Maddalena: « Caprera ». A small road connects the 2 islands. We go to the 2 beaches: « Cala Serena » and « Spiaggia Cala Coticcio »
We don’t have too much time left before nightfall, we take a look at « Cala Serena » and decide to go swimming in « Spiaggia Cala Coticcio ». We had to park 15 minutes walk away from the beach. The walk is quite easy, do not be discouraged. We arrive and discover a magnificent rocky beach. The lack of sun spoils the view a bit.
For the evening, there is not much choice, direction the city center of Maddelena, next to the port, there is a Parking place.
You can go around the lively neighborhoods quickly, it’s a small village.
While having the walking tour, we choose a small restaurant : « Ristorante L’aragosta » located opposite the port: 38 Via Amendola (41°12’49.7″N 9°24’29.0″E). The prices are fair and the food is quite good.
