It’s better to have a cooler with water, sandwiches… and hats. The day can be long and tiring with the summer heat.
The departure of the cruise being scheduled at 09:30 am, we depart from Olbia at 06:00 am. The trip to Santa Maria Navarrese lasts between 02:30 and 03:00. Parking is available in this small port for € 6.50 per day.
We board on a little boat with about thirty people:
The cruise starts at 09h30 :
The red line program :
- To « Cala Luna » : 9:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
- Swimming at « Cala Luna » : 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Swimming at « Cala Sisine » : 1:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Visit of the « Fico Caves » : 3.35 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. (optional with extra: 10 € / person)
- Swimming at « Cala Mariolu » : 3:45 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Return to Santa Maria Navarrese : 6:00 p.m.
Step 01 : To « Cala Luna »
For 2 hours, the boat goes along the coast. Comments in Italian and English describe the coves and beaches : fascinating !
Step 02 : Swimming at « Cala Luna »
« Cala Luna » is a beautiful pebble beach with turquoise water. It starts very well
Etape 03 : Swimming at « Cala Sisine »
Second equally magnificent beach
Step 04 : Visit of the « Fico Caves »
This step is optional with an extra of 10 € per person. If you do this visit, you lose 1 hour of swimming in “Cala Mariolu”. The boat drops you off at the caves with the guide and continues to “Cala Mariolu”. It will come back to pick you up after 1 hour. We chose not to do this visit.
Step 05 : Swimming at « Cala Mariolu »
It is, in our opinion, one of the best beaches in Sardinia. We do not regret our choice not to visit the caves. « Cala Mariolu » is a splendid cove where you can dive from a rock.
We arrive at the port of « Santa Maria Navarrese » at 6:00 p.m. After 3 hours of driving, we arrive at our accommodation in Olbia. It’s 9 p.m. The day was tiring but intense and exceptional.
