Arriving in Istanbul for the stopover at the new airport: it’s huge
Turkish Airlines offers free tours for stopovers with a duration between 6h00. and 12h00. You have to find the office of the company named of « TOUR ISTANBUL ». The office is located after passing customs, at the exit of travelers on the right. Just show your plane ticket to book the free tour.
The circuit depends on the day and the times: For us, it will be: cruise on the Bosphorus with dinner from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
At 6:00 p.m., the guide takes us to the bus that will transport us to Istanbul (opposite to the Egyptian bazaar). She gives us a little history of the city on the bus. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
Arrived at the boat around 19:00, we are offered dinner (Turkish sandwich, pastries, water …), it’s not the best dinner but that’s enough for us 🙂
We can also have blankets (and it’s very useful because it begins to be cold).
The 3 hour cruise begins with a description, which I describe as exhaustive, of all the buildings bordering the Bosphorus:
We arrive at the airport around 11:00 p.m. Our flight to Bali is at 01:30, except that it was delayed to 04:30 😦
We try to occupy ourselves and rest in this huge airport that never sleeps
At 04:00, we embark on a 13 hour flight, let’s go 🙂
With fatigue, we manage to sleep well between the meals offered by the crew which are very good.
Around 22:00, we arrive at Bali Denpasar airport, we pass customs fairly quickly.
We make the change of 60 €, we know that the exchange rate is not advantageous (1 € = 14,500 RP), but no choice
Our first destination is Kuta, taxis in front of the airport offer journeys at 250,000 Rp (16.5 €) which we manage to negotiate at 100,000 Rp (6.5 €). As they say, you always have to negotiate in Bali.
Around 11:30 p.m., we arrive at our first accommodation:
