ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone)
Several historic centers of Italian cities apply the principle of ZTL (Zone a Traffico Limitato).
An indication is displayed at the entrance to the Zone.
Depending on the city, the ZTL can only be activated during the day and on weekdays. Some cities apply the ZTL permanently.
It is forbidden to enter tha ZTL, otherwise, you will have a fine.
There are often paid parking lots just before the start of the ZTL.
If necessary, it is possible to contact your hotel to make an online request and pay for a Pass to access the Zone. We tried this procedure in Florence and Palermo.
