We arrive at Phi Phi Island in an idyllic landscape.

Phi Phi Island is completely pedestrianized, except for delivery cars, ambulances, etc. which are all electric carts.
Our hotel sends us a person to transport our luggage using a small manual cart. This is generally a service offered by all accommodations upon arrival and departure. It is included in the price, but do not hesitate to give a tip to the person who helps you with the luggage.

The beaches of Phi Phi Island are so nice, we choose to go to Long Beach.
Right in front of the hotel, we find a longtail boat that agrees to take us there for 100 THB (€2.7).
The beach is accessible by land, but the journey is very long.
On the way to Long Beach, you can see another beautiful beach: Viking Beach

We arrive at Long Beach, and the beach is really beautiful.

We take the opportunity to have a little swim. It’s perfect.
To eat, we choose a restaurant on the beach: Paradise Cuisine Phi Phi (7°43’45.6″N 98°47’11.6″E)

We come back with a longtail boat. There are a few on the beach. You have to negotiate well. We get out for 200 THB (5.4 €). Because of the tide, the boat drops us off next to Ton Sai Pier

We return to our hotel for a shower, then we go out for a walk in the island

The main road « Tonsai Beach Road » is beautiful and very lively

Further from the hotel, as we approach TonSai Pier, it becomes even more lively with quite a few Street Food stands.

We look for a local travel agency to book an excursion for the next day. There are agencies everywhere, we have to find the one that suits us.
We choose to book at “Coconut Club Travel & Tour” in front of the famous Carlito’s bar

We choose the half-day excursion, the morning one. A whole day would be tiring with a 1-year-old baby.
We pay 3500 THB per person (90 €)

This is our second day in Phi Phi, morning program: sea excursion.
We booked a half-day excursion for 3500 THB per person (90 €)

The meeting point is set in front of the McDonalds next to the pier of “Tonsai Pier”. This is the meeting point chosen by all the companies that do this type of excursion. You have to find the person responsible for your excursion in the middle of all these people. We meet our guide, and head back to Carlito’s bar for the departure.

Step 01: at 10:00, we leave from the beach of Carlito’s bar

Step 02: We make a short stop (around 11:00) at the “Viking Cave”

Step 03 – at 11:10, we access the bay of Pi Leh Bay

We stay there for a magnificent swim

We leave the bay at 12:00

Step 04 – at 12:40 we arrive at the Maya Bay pier and cross a path in the greenery. It is a 10 minute walk in a splendid place that leads to Maya Bay

Step 05 – at 12:50, we arrive at the wonderful Maya Bay. This is the famous beach from the movie “The Beach” with “Leonardo DiCaprio”

The place is very popular and crowded. To preserve the beach and manage the large number of visitors, swimming is prohibited and the visit time is shortened. We stay there for 15 minutes.

We return by the same path on foot to find our guide and wait for our boat.

Step 06 – at 1:30 p.m., we leave the Maya Bay pier

Step 07 – Around 1:45 p.m., this is the last stop of our excursion. We make a short photo stop at Monkey Bay. The water level has risen and it is impossible to go down. In any case, it is generally not recommended to go down into this bay governed by monkeys. They can be very aggressive.

Step 08 – at 2:00 p.m., we return to Carlito’s bar beach and return to our hotel for a short break.

We take advantage of the afternoon and evening to discover the island on foot

The island being pedestrianized, we walk in a beautiful peaceful setting

The signs on the evacuation routes remind us of the tragic past of the island and the region at the time of the 2004 Tsunami

We wanted to see the famous Sunflower beach bar, but with the stroller, we give up climbing the steps.

We go to another famous bar: the Slinky Bar

Then, we return to Carlito’s bar to enjoy the end of the day in a magnificent setting. The bar is famous for its evenings with entertainment on the beach. A fire show is held every evening on the beach of the bar.

This is our departure day to Phuket by boat. As on arrival on the island, our host finds us a person to carry our luggage to the Ton Sai Pier pier
