In July 2021, we did a road trip in Italy and especially in Sardinia:
At the start of this road trip, we had the opportunity to visit Starsbourg and Colmar in Alsace

Strasbourg :
After 5 hours of driving, we arrive to Strasbourg around 09:00 in the morning and find a parking place in the street of Vieux-Marché-aux-Poissons.

The park location is perfect to visit the « Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg » which is the symbol of the city and the oldest gothic cathedral in the world. The cathedral is very beautiful and placed in the heart of the city

Close to the cathedral, you find the « Place Gutenberg« . A magnificent central square perfect for having a coffee or a drink in one of its many terraces.

We have our breakfast there before heading to “Place Kleber”. It is the meeting place for cultural and sport events.

We continue our way to the most visited area of the city: « La Petite France » (Little France). It is an essential district in Strasbourg. The area is really picturesque with the canals bordering the typical Alsatian houses.

In this district, you will find the covered bridges : « ponts couverts » which kept their name even after loosing their roof.
We return to our parking place to pick up our car and leave around 12:00 p.m. we were able to take a short tour of the essentials of Strasbourg.
If you have more time, it is possible to visit the 4 medieval churches of the city:
- Saint-Thomas church
- Saint-Pierre-le-vieux church
- Saint-Pierre-le-jeune church
- Saint-Etienne church
Before leaving for Colmar, we cross the border at the « Pont de l’Europe » to Germany. We did some shopping across the Rhine river. You should know that food shopping is cheaper in Germany.

Colmar :
We head to our accommodation, located on the outskirts of Colmar. This is a low budget hotel. The goal is to spend the night and have some rest, nothing more

After a rest at the hotel, we leave for the Colmar city center at the end of the afternoon. Our visit is limited to the district of « Little Venice » (La Petite Venise) : A very beautiful district and certainly the most visited in Colmar. After a tour of the neighborhood, we take a seat in one of the many terraces before returning to the hotel for the night.
