We booked our bus trip to Luxor online via Go-bus.com
Departure is at 1:30 p.m. for an estimated duration of 4 hours.
We paid 285 EGP (5.5 €) per person
Location of the departure station: https://maps.app.goo.gl/N13LAcBQePJzJSV57
Location of the arrival station: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bd9UxqtA6j5zYktw8

We find a taxi via Careem for 50 EGP (1 €) to reach the Go-Bus bus station (27°14’17.3″N 33°49’54.9″E)
The bus leaves 30 minutes late to arrive in Luxor at 18:30.
The bus is not particularly comfortable but for a 5-hour journey, it is not a big deal

During the journey, the bus stops for a 20-minute break halfway between Hurghada and Luxor. The break is in a café lost in the desert. The owner takes advantage of his exclusive location to have high prices compared to local life (3 € drinks, paid WC, etc.)
It is better to have snacks at the start and take advantage of the break to stretch your legs.

The first part of the journey is in a desert landscapes. Anyway, in Egypt, to see greenery, you have to get closer to the Nile

From the city of Qena, The landscapes change :

We arrive at the Luxor Go-Bus bus station (25°41’52.5″N 32°38’41.5″E). If no one is waiting for you there, you have to prepare for the incessant solicitations of taxi drivers.

We talked via Whatsapp with our contact in Luxor (Abdelgawad: +20 100 349 1756)
He has a small motorboat and knows quite a few people in Luxor.
He offered to wait for us with a taxi to take us to our hotel.
He will be doing with him a little cruise on the Nile at sunset, and he also found us a private driver to visit the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Habu and that of Hatshepsut. We meet Abdelgawad and leave by taxi to our hotel

We arrive at our accommodation in Luxor:

It is a luxurious hotel on the banks of the Nile, the room is clean with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool and further away the Nile. We would have preferred to have a direct view on the Nile but it is not a problem. We will see later with the hotel if it is possible to change the room.
For now, we are leaving for the city center of Luxor.
We take a Taxi via Indrive (We noticed that Indrive is better than Careem in Luxor). For 75 EGP (1.5 €), we arrive at the Luxor train station.
We buy our train tickets to Aswan (departure scheduled in 3 days). Since we have Tunisian passports, we take advantage of the « Arab rate ». The journey costs us 300 EGP (6 €) per person in first class.

We also buy tickets for the sleeping train from Aswan to Giza (departure scheduled in 7 days). Still with the Arab rate, a cabin for 2 people on the night train costs us 1400 EGP (27 €) per person.

PS: the prices displayed are not up to date
Our hotel reservation only includes breakfast. For dinner, we take advantage of our presence in the city center to try a well-rated restaurant and we do not regret it: Sofra

We discover real Egyptian cuisine with Taamia (Falafel with broad beans), chicken stuffed with rice, baba Ghanouch …
The place is nice and the food is very good. We highly recommend this restaurant in Luxor.
We return to our hotel to rest while waiting for tomorrow’s busy schedule.
