But the hotel it is well located in the heart of the Zamalek district which leaves us with a multitude of choices of cafes for breakfast.
We go out for a walk around the neighborhood

We arrive at an address that was recommended to us: “Fornalia artisan bakery and Café” (30°03’55.5″N 31°13’17.3″E)
It’s a modern coffee house with Western pastries, but also with Western prices (€5 for a coffee with a croissant).

We choose to return to the souks of Cairo and take a taxi to old Cairo.

We pass through the famous Tahrir Square, the scene of the 2011 revolution that brought down Hosni Mubarak after 29 years.

After yet another tour of the souks of Cairo (Khan-Al-Khalil, Khayyamya)

We head towards Al Azhar Park

We visit Wekalet El Ghoury.
It is a commercial building built in 1504 on the orders of the Mamluk Sultan Al Ghoury. It is one of the famous buildings and residences to visit in Old Cairo.
Some other similar addresses in the same area:
- Zeinab Khatoon House
- El-Harrawi House (opposite Zeinab Khatoon House)
- Al Suhaimi House: Belonged to a famous professor at the university Al-Azhar

We pass in front of the Al-Azhar Mosque. It is Friday, the day of prayer and it is almost time for Friday prayer. The place is crowded between the faithful, the merchants, the tourists and the policemen who ensure security in a Cairo bustling with life.

We continue towards the park, pay 50 EGP (1 €) per person and access the lung of the city.

This is the ideal place chosen by Cairo families to escape the pollution and the hustle and bustle of the city
It is a haven in the middle of one of the largest cities on the African continent

We return to our hotel by taxi for a short break
This is our last evening in Egypt, we choose to discover the new trendy suburbs of Cairo.

We find a taxi that takes us to the city « El Sheikh Zayed« . It is one of the new chic suburbs. There are luxurious housing complexes, shopping centers, trendy cafes and restaurants. It is another Cairo

We take a taxi to go to the other side of Cairo to discover the city of New Cairo. Our taxi drops us off at the Haggouga restaurant. This is a restaurant known for its good family atmosphere.
Hold on tight, there are between 2 and 3 hours of waiting.
We give up on this option and return near the hotel, in Zamalek, to finish the evening in a shisha bar « Naomi Restaurant and Cafe » (30°03’39.8″N 31°13’12.4″E)
Our 3 taxis of the evening cost us 550 EGP (11 €) and allowed us to take a big tour around Cairo and see the future of the city which is, it must be admitted, surprising, but also saturated and overpopulated.
