Things to do in Genoa :
We strolled through the beautiful streets of the old town

Don’t miss the main streets of the city:
- via Garibaldi : One of the most beautiful streets in Genoa
- Via Roma : Another main street in the city
- Via XX Settembre : Known for its luxury boutiques and lively atmosphere
You will certainly pass by the central square of the city: Piazza de Ferrari. Here you will find the Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace)

In the heart of the city, you will find the magnificent Cathedral of San Lorenzo (Genoa Cathedral)

Another must-see in the city is the port of Genoa.
Genoa is known worldwide for its port, which is also one of the most important in the Mediterranean region
In the port, you will also find the Lanterna lighthouse. It is the tallest lighthouse in Italy

You will also find the Bigo Panoramic Lift: This is a kind of crane that can carry up to 70 passengers at a time in order to offer a beautiful view of the city and the port

The normal fare is €5.00

In the port, you will find the Aquarium of Genoa. It is the aquarium with the largest number of ecosystems in Europe

You can book your entry (€29) online: https://www.acquariodigenova.it/biglietti

In addition to a rich variety of fishes, you can see dolphins, sharks, turtles, penguins and jellyfish

The aquarium also has a large pool where you can touch rays and fish:

We also took the Zecca Righi funicular:

It allows you to climb to the heights of the city and enjoy a magnificent view:

Visiting Genoa also means tasting its specialties and testing its addresses:
- You can taste pesto pasta, because pesto comes from the Liguria region of which Genoa is the capital.
- You will also find a good number of restaurants offering fried seafood.
- You can also taste a good Focaccia. This essential Italian cuisine is associated with the Genoa region
- Some bars and bakeries offer slices of Farinata (chickpea tart)

Some addresses:
- You want to eat local and authentic. A small, unassuming restaurant frequented by locals offers great pasta and lasagna at low prices: La Botega Del Gusto (44°24’35.9″N 8°56’02.9″E)

- We discovered a wonderful seafood sandwich restaurant in the city’s port: Panino Marino (44°24’38.3″N 8°55’43.9″E)
- The Cremeria Buonafede (44°24’34.1″N 8°55’57.7″E) is a small café offering exceptional ice cream

- Oltreconfine Cafè is a café/bar perfectly located on Piazza San Lorenzo opposite Genoa Cathedral
