After breakfast, we head to the Vatican city located 8 minutes walk away

To the Vatican city

Access to the hall of St. Peter’s Basilica is free, but to be able to visit the dome, you can take a pass :
8 € via the stairs
10 € with an elevator
I advise you to take the elevator, because, you will have several stairs to climb to reach the roof, even after the elevator ride.

St. Peter’s Basilica Cupola Pass

St. Peter’s Basilica is just wonderful :

After climbing up narrow and cramped stairs, you will arrive on the roof of the basilica. This is the best place to admire St. Peter’s Square (Piazza San Pietro):

It will take at least 2 or 3 hours to visit the basilica.

We take the subway again to go to the center of Rome to have a tour between the « Piazza Navona », the « Pantheon », the « Campo de’ Fiori » and the adjacent streets:

Walk at Rome

We ended up at a tiramisu shop known to be the best in Rome: « Two Sizes » (88 Via del Governo Vecchio : 41°53’52.9″N 12°28’17.7″E). It’s a delight :

After a short rest at the hotel, we revisit the “Colosseum” to admire it under the daylight:

Next to the “Colosseum” you can see the “Colosseum Archaeological Park”:

« Colosseum Archaeological Park »

Continuing straight, we pass through the square of Venice (Piazza Venezia)

ABefore going back to our accomodation, we pass by the « Trevi Fountain » :

After a last tour in the historic center of Rome and around the Pantheon

We take the ferry to Sardinia for the rest of our road trip in Italy
